Collins has now successfully completed works at Holloway Fire Station, marking our third London fire station project within a year. We are delighted to continue our long-standing working relationship with the London Fire Brigade, which has spanned more than 20 years.
This project was successfully delivered within a live and operational fire station environment. Holloway Fire Station supports a large operational area and is also home to a key communications centre. The station responds to local incidents, as well as incidents across London involving three or more fire engines. As a result, meticulous planning and close coordination were essential to minimise disruption to this vital emergency service.
The completed works included:
- Full scaffolding around the fire station, including the installation of a temporary roof.
- Stripping and renewal of four existing roofs using a new insulated Langley roofing system.
- Replacement of all rooflights, including the barrel rooflight over the appliance bay.
- Disconnection of roof-level mechanical and electrical (M&E) equipment to facilitate the works, followed by reinstatement on completion.
We are proud to have successfully delivered another project for the London Fire Brigade and to have played our part in maintaining and improving this important operational facility.
