Collins commenced works on site today at Egerton Court.
This prominent block sits on the corner of Old Brompton Road, directly opposite South Kensington Tube Station. As a result of its prime location and high levels of visibility, the client has taken the opportunity to introduce a bespoke scaffold advertising wrap in partnership with Rolex, encapsulating the scaffold for the duration of the works.
Our works will include the following:
Main Roof Level –
- Application of a liquid plastic overlay to all previously coated areas of the zinc roof systems, using a system specified by Langley Waterproofing.
- Nominal lead repairs to the street-facing roof slopes.
- Provisional allowance to re-cap selected areas of the 12no. circular lead pediment windows using Code 6 lead.
- Replacement of the main rooflight.
- Overhaul of the glazed roof access enclosure, retaining the existing frame.
- Replacement of the existing roof-level metal railing.
- Overhaul of the perimeter box gutter, including re-lining in accordance with the Langley Waterproofing liquid plastic specification.
- Installation of new flashings in accordance with the Lead Sheet Association (LSA) requirements.
Lightwell & Terrace Areas –
- Allowance for an abseil survey to the narrow lightwell, including provision for nominal repairs.
- Overhaul of the asphalt to the first-floor terrace, including improvements to perimeter detailing.
Rainwater & Drainage –
- Rainwater and drainage repairs.
- Water testing to drainage and rainwater systems.
- Below-ground CCTV survey, including an allowance for nominal repairs.
External Fabric –
- DOFF cleaning to the relevant areas.
- Masonry repairs, including stucco and brickwork repairs.
- Joinery and window repairs.
- Redecoration works.
The works are scheduled to progress over the coming months, with a focus on delivering a high-quality refurbishment while preserving and enhancing the existing character of this prominent building.
