Works continue to progress well at Bickenhall Mansions as we deliver the comprehensive 74-week external restoration programme. Our teams have made significant progress across several areas of the project, with key milestones now being achieved.
Recent progress includes:
- Scaffolding to Blocks 6 & 8 has now been fully erected, with masonry repairs to the Gloucester Place elevation and chimney stacks well underway. New chimney pots have been installed, alongside extensive brickwork repairs and repointing.
- Roofing works to Blocks 3 & 5 are nearing completion, with new handrails installed to complete the liquid-applied flat roof system to the rear.
- New AOV hatches and rooflights have been successfully replaced on Blocks 3 & 5.
- Installation of replacement terracotta units is progressing well, with each unit carefully colour-tinted to match the existing historic façade.
- New heritage-style aluminium rainwater goods, including hoppers and downpipes, are being installed to Blocks 3 & 5.
- Final masonry repairs to the lower ground floor lightwells on Blocks 3 & 5 are approaching completion.
- Restoration of the front railings continues, with blasting and repainting works now more than halfway complete, providing a durable, high-quality finish.
