We’re pleased to share the successful completion of works at Gwydyr Mansions, Brighton.
Originally appointed to undertake roofing works in collaboration with the client team and local council, the project quickly evolved as site investigations progressed. Upon securing the site boundary and lifting the paving slabs, we uncovered a failed and incompatible liquid roofing system. Further investigations identified that the existing basement boundary walls were undefined and unsuitable for the terminations required of a compliant roofing solution.
Working closely with our specialist supply chain, we assessed the challenges and adapted the scope of works accordingly. What began as a roofing project was re-designed into a fully integrated tanking and waterproofing solution, requiring reactive design development and careful coordination.
The result is a dry, fully weather-secured below-ground vaulted property, delivered through proactive problem-solving, technical expertise, and strong collaboration.
A great example of how flexibility, experience, and the right team can turn unforeseen challenges into a successful outcome.
