The condemned rear fire escape at Chiltern Court has now been safely removed. Following a structural assessment, the fire escape was identified as unsafe and it’s removal was necessary to eliminate access and potential risks.
Chiltern Court is located directly above Baker Street Tube Station; our works cantilevered over the tube line, so the removal works required months of extensive planning and close coordination with Transport for London. The works were carried out predominantly overnight during scheduled engineering hours, to ensure the safety of our workers and those using the Tube, whilst trying to minimise any disruptions.
Following removal, the affected area was made good and redecorated locally upon completion.
