In aid of our charity of the year Mates In Mind we have entered a team in the 2026 Mental Health World Cup, to be played at Millwall’s ground on 24th May.
The Mental Health World Cup started in 2012, after founders Giancarlo and Gianpiero Gaglione lost their youngest brother Lanfranco to suicide.
The brothers honoured Lanfranco’s memory with a community football match in their local park, aiming to raise money for mental health charities and stand against suicide through a beloved sport.
14 years on, their casual kick about is now a fully fledged charity tournament, entirely volunteer-led with players fundraising nationwide and flocking to football stadiums to play in the Mental Health World Cup each spring.
Collectively the Mental Health World Cup has raised over £900,000 for charity since 2012, with 100% of profits going to those in need.
As part of the event, we needed first to pick a country to represent, as we would like to win and not just to take part, we decided that GERMANY would be our best bet! and have been drawn in a group against, Senegal, Egypt, Nigeria, Scotland & Japan.
We have a mixture of office and site staff playing, young and old!!
We look forward to welcoming our colleagues and their families to come and support the team and the event on the day.
